About My Project
Project was completed by Morgan Feltham on December 4th, 2022
The Idea
The 27 Club is one of the most remarkably tragic coincidences in all of rock and roll history. Many of the deaths were the result of risky lifestyles which culminated in suicides or drug and alcohol abuse. The similarities in lifestyles of the members of the 27 club just leave the door open for even more questions and conspiracies.
The Question
By gathering and comparing information on the history and geography of the lives of fifteen members of the infamous 27 club, the question I worked to answer was the following: Were there any geographical connections between fifteen of the most famous members of the 27 club? Did their causes of death have any correlation with geographical location and distances from home?

The Process
In order to further analyze the similarities and differences between these musicians, I decided to incorporate the themes of geomusicology. Geomusiciology is the study of the geography of music. Using Flourish, I created an interactive map in order to get a better sense of where the artists were born and where they died.
